Whatever 2011 brings, it promises to be packed with lots of exciting arty treats. I’ve put together a list of just a few things on offer
in the New Year. I’ll be trying to get to as many of them as I can, and, of course, to blog them. You might not think all of them are blogworthy, but that’s the beauty of being the author – I get to choose! But please feel free to leave a comment if you know of something which should be added to my list. (Also, big thanks to a piece in the Observer for kicking this off).
So, here’s what we can look forward to in 2011…
10th – The return of Glee!
19th – Gabriel Orozco exhibition at Tate Modern until 25th April.
22nd – Modern British Sculpture at the Royal Academy until 7th April
1st – Susan Hiller at Tate Britain until 15th May.
5th – Danny Boyle’s Frankenstein at the National Theatre until 17th April. (Alternating Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller in the lead roles).
16th – Watercolour at Tate Britain until 21st August.
3rd – Nancy Spero at the Serpentine Gallery until 1st May.
And looking slightly further ahead…
21st October – Turner Prize 11 exhibition at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead until 8th January 2012. The shortlist will be announced in April 2011.
